Game Room Games
‘Game room games’ is the term that encompasses all those games that don’t use a board. The game room is what most guys wish they could turn their den into. It would have a wet bar, a flat screen TV, pool table, air hockey table, dart board, ping pong table, and maybe even a karaoke machine or jukebox for good measure.
What’s the one thing all those game room games have in common? Well none of them use a board. Some are on tables built especially for the game, some hang on the wall, but none of them are going to be caught anywhere near a board. That is not to say that being board-less is the key to being in the game room games club, it certainly hasn’t worked for Yahtzee. But it’s a start.Game rooms are a man’s place of retreat, and so they’re filled with the sorts of stuff that a man would want. That’s really the key to a game room game, is it something a grown man can see himself enjoying? Hell, some even have pinball machines in them, because that’s what the owner wanted.
