Billiard Supplies
There are a few items that qualify as billiard supplies. Of course there are the balls, the table, and the cues, but those don’t quite fit the bill. ‘Supplies’ is a term more indicative of an item that is used up. Coffee filters are supplies, coffee makers aren’t. With that said, what’s left to saddle with the moniker billiard supplies.
Well, cue chalk makes the cut. Other than that, there’s not much about a billiards game that gets used up. If it takes place in a bar, the pitchers of beer are definitely supplies. Good luck finding them in the billiards section of a games store though. If you buy poor quality setup diamonds, I suppose they could be billiard supplies.
Rather, ‘billiard supplies’ is a catchphrase that people search hoping to find all the things billiards related in one place. Ironically, since people familiar with both the game and the meaning of the word supplies aren’t going to list much of anything under this term, this means that results are conjured up for these searches that may only vaguely resemble what they were actually looking for.
