Adult Board Games
Adult board games can be the life of a party. There are several things that differentiate an adult game from a child one, and most of them aren’t the least bit scandalous. For one, there is a level of mental involvement there that a child’s game lacks. That’s not to say children play mindless games, they don’t.
But take chess for example. While there are certainly young chess champions, chess is by and large an adult’s game. It requires a comprehensive knowledge of movement capabilities, accurate reads of your opponent, and the ability to think several moves into the future to be a successful chess player. These are traits far more often associated with an adult than a child, and so chess would be grouped among adult board games.
Of course, there are other types of adult board games as well. Some are creatively themed drinking games, while others are of a sensual nature. These games are adult not because of higher cognitive requirements, but because of theme. With names like Loaded Questions, Dirty Minds, and Battledrinks; it isn’t hard to see why these games are listed for adults.
